Congratulations to Jacob on his college choice and good luck in the future!
The King’s Academy
University at Albany
Why did you choose this college?
I chose the University At Albany because of its unique lacrosse culture and style of play. Albany has created a very successful lacrosse program over the past decade and has made numerous appearances in the NCAA tournaments and in the final four in 2018. The coaching staff does a great job at making lacrosse fun while at the same time making it a very competitive and successful team.
What are your first memories of the sport?
I started playing lacrosse in the second grade and fell in love with traveling to tournaments with my friends and playing the game for fun. There was no stress of getting recruited, getting yelled at, or messing up; I just went out there and played lacrosse with my friends
What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future?
The part of the recruiting process that surprised me the most is how many kids there are that play like you, have the same goal as you and the same dream as you. They are looking for you to do the little things right in order to find the perfect fit for their program. To those who are coming up in the process, I encourage you to go all out when you are playing. You are competing for a college look and the person you are playing against is in your way.
Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I would like to thank my parents for working so hard to give me the opportunity to play in recruiting tournaments this summer. I would also like to thank my coaches Kevin Martin and Kevin Dugan for helping me throughout the recruiting process.
