via press release - video clips are at the article (Author's note:  I was watching some of this game and turned it off when it looked like Hartford was comfortably ahead!)   Excerpt: Hartford, CT - Sophomore Parker Giarratana (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) scored three unanswered goal to lift Manhattan to a thrilling 14-13 come-from-behind, double-overtime victory over Hartford in non-conference action. Trailing 13-11 with 2:27 to play, junior Joseph Bressingham (Glen Cove, NY / Nassau CC) won the face-off and got the ball to Giarratana, who quickly found the net just seven seconds later in making it a one-goal game. The Hawks won the ensuing possession and appeared to have the game in hand but were forced into a turnover. Giarratana made Hartford pay with the game

Three weeks into the season and this past week really shook things up . . . LOTS of big games that impacted the rankings. The type of week that makes it a little harder to come up with that really good song that i can use to introduce the week.   But then, using a particularly inspired piece of memory . . . A film that I saw in the movie theater in 1969. If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_It's_Tuesday,_This_Must_Be_Belgium   Ten games on Tuesday made an impact on the lacrosse scene. That's actually Michael Constantine in this scene, who recent movie goers recognize as Gus from the My Big Fat Greek Wedding Movies. A pretty funny scene as an American and a German who fought the battle in WWII at this...

FHSAA, Men's Lacrosse
photos via Jeff Eisenmann   It’s pretty easy for a game like this to sort of be taken for granted.  The last few years both programs have struggled to continue Final Eight FHSAA appearances.  These two schools weigh heavily on me as far as the first two seasons of writing for FLN as each wrote a story that made waves, CC in 2013 and Boca in 2014.  Their seasons changed paradigms.  One a mostly Latino starting lineup in a sport where that was rare back then and one that finally knocked a dominant power out of their district birthright. But the last few seasons have been tough for both and now the possible rebuilding of both are in full swing and both teams came into the game at 4-0.  Boca might be a little ahead of schedule record wise while CC has a nice road win at AH-Boca.

Okay, finally we have a pollster who actually SAW a couple of games! Damn, it's great to get out of the house! Viruses suck.   Four of the Top 7 in the Preseason Poll have already tasted defeat . . . and that does not include Oxbridge. For those who are new to this poll please understand that I do not rank the IMG National or Varsity programs as they are not eligible for FHSAA playoff consideration and I see them as a separate entity dedicated to developing a player and team that makes it an apples and oranges comparison to traditional high schools.  This is not a slight to them, it is just that they market themselves nationally, not at the Florida level.  Oxbridge did fall to IMG Varsity last week but those games play no role in my polling decisions.
