Quinn RoeSarah Trupp and Taylor Zuberer have been named as lacrosse team captains for the 20192-0 athletic year, head coach Christy Leach announced today.

“I am excited to announce Sarah, Quinn, and Taylor as our captains for this year,” Leach said. “The three of them embody everything Stetson Lacrosse stands for and represents. We are very confident in their ability to lead our team and raise the standards of our program. We are thrilled about the future of our program and know that these three will have a great impact on our success.”

Roe, a midfielder, is the longest tenured Hatter. The fifth-year senior from Palm City, Fla., has appeared in 38 career games and scored 24 goals with 10 assists. An outstanding all-round player over the course of her career, Roe ranks among Stetson’s all-time leaders with 57 draw controls, and her 37 draws last season rank seventh all-time.

Trupp, one of the top defenders in the ASUN Conference, has been a stalwart in the back for the Hatters since her arrival on campus. In three seasons, the Brightwaters, N.Y., native has appeared in 52 games with 51 starts. As a junior last year she earned second-team All-ASUN honors after ranking third in the conference with 59 ground balls. Trupp also set a school record in 2019 with 24 caused turnovers.

Zuberer, a junior, came into her own on the field last year, emerging as a dependable offensive threat. After not scoring during her freshman season Zuberer, a Tampa, Fla., native, exploded onto the scene with 22 goals as a sophomore. She also contributed 24 draw controls and 12 ground balls.

The Hatters continue their fall schedule this weekend when they face Coastal Carolina and Furman in Conway, S.C.
