Congratulations to Max on his college choice and good luck in the future!
St. Andrews School
Catholic University of America
Why did you choose this college?
Outstanding academics with a superb lacrosse coach (Brooks B. Singer), winning atmosphere in an amazing city.
What are your first memories of the sport?
Playing lacrosse at age 5 in Durham, North Carolina, and after the first time of having the ball in my stick during a game I came off the field and Coach Carpenter said to me “Doesn’t it feel good to have the ball in your stick!”
What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future?
It was most surprising that is was a lot more work and effort than I originally thought–it takes work to seek out the schools, contact the coaches and visit all of the schools in order to find the best fit. The best advice I could give would be to say “trust your gut–you will know the right school and right coach when you meet them”.
Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I would like to thank my father for giving me my first stick and my mother for taking me on a huge summer trip where I traveled up and down the east coast and visited all of the schools. I would also like to thank my two younger brothers who helped me get better (one of my younger brothers is a goalie!).
