via press release - photo via Tampa web site   GAFFNEY, S.C. – Reaching the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship Semifinal for the third time in program history, the No. 8 University of Tampa men's lacrosse team will meet top-ranked Limestone College on the road at Saints Field on Sunday, May 21 at 12 p.m. The Spartans advanced to the final four after a road victory over the tournament's south region No. 2 seeded Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears. After a strong first half from Tampa, Lenoir-Rhyne tried to sneak back but the Spartan defense held the Bears. Sophomore Andrew Kew leads UT in goals scored while breaking the NCAA record for goals in a season, now sitting at 85 on the season. #9 Tampa Spartans Primed for NCAA Quarterfinal Trip to Lenoir-Rhyne

via press release - photo via UT web site   INDIANAPOLIS –  The stage is set for the No. 9 University of Tampa men's lacrosse team to meet No. 7 Lenoir-Rhyne University on Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m. in the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship Quarterfinals at Hickory, N.C. The Spartans earned a bid for the fourth consecutive year, as they enter the contest with a 14-4 overall record.  Tampa has not matched-up against the Bears since 2013 and currently have a winning record against them of 2-0. In postseason play, Tampa advanced to the national semifinals in 2014 and 2016. The Spartans have now been selected to four consecutive NCAA tournaments, dating back to 2014. In all, 41 student-athletes were recognized in the fourth year of Sunshine State Conference men's lacrosse. Voting for the All-SSC Men's Lacrosse Team was conducted among the league's head coaches. Conor Whipple of the University of Tampa is named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year for the third time in his career. Whipple, a senior from Tampa, becomes the ninth SSC athlete to win a Player of the Year award three times1. Whipple leads the SSC and the nation in Points per Game (5.33) and Assists per Game (3.20).
