Author’s Note: I was able to watch the first half of this game before going to Miami for PV-GP and Lynn really played a good first quarter and when they were patient on offense but when they tried to go quick it was an opening to Limestone’s athletes to play to their strength.  And boy . . . Limestone’s players are BIG, FAST and GOOD . . . really good.  They are just as big as most D1 teams.  But still, Lynn has come a long way in the few years. One thing I didn’t like.  Sure, it was spring break, but it’s not like the entire Lynn student body lives at least 50 miles away.  The defending national champs come to town and the student body support was NON-EXISTENT in the stands.  Sorry kids, but you have something special here and you need to come out in bigger numbers!  Limestone is in South Carolina near Charlotte, NC, and it looked like there were more Limestone fans in the crowd than Lynn.  So it isn’t the distance, it’s the DESIRE. Prove me wrong the next home game

  BOCA RATON, Fla. – In a battle of nationally-ranked squads on Saturday, a 6-0 run in the second quarter and second-chance opportunities throughout the game helped the second-ranked Limestone College Saints post a 13-4 nonconference victory over Lynn University’s 12^th-ranked lacrosse team. Austin Jerhoff scored all four of the Fighting Knights’ goals while the Blue and White controlled the fight at the X. • Jerhoff opened up the scoring with a strike from Mikey Urso five minutes into the game and continued to be Lynn’s most consistent offensive threat over the middle throughout the game. The redshirt-junior finished with four goals on seven shots (five on-goal) along with two groundballs.
• Urso and Nick Howard each notched an assist while Tully Wise dished out two for a career-high.
• Freshman Dryden Brous had a solid day at the X, winning nine of his 13 faceoffs. Teammate Christopher Lasprogata followed up with a 4-of-8 effort to give the Fighting Knights ample offensive possessions.
• Brous and Urso led the groundball effort with five apiece. Urso has 12 over the past two games.
• Lynn recorded seven caused turnovers on the day, with Travis Quillin responsible for a pair.
• Goalkeeper Collin McClelland notched 11 saves, marking double figures for the third straight game.

• Lynn led Limestone in both shots (44-33) and faceoffs won (13-8). 
• Limestone was the national runner-up last year after winning the national championship in both 2014 & 2015. The Saints have been in the national final in four of the last five years.
• Limestone’s goalie, junior Cole Aikens, made his first career start, posting the 10th highest single-game saves total in program history (16).

UP NEXT: Lynn heads back on the road, this time going way north for a pair of contests. The Fighting Knights will take the field at Seton Hill University in Pennsylvania on Saturday, March 18 at 12 p.m.
