Lee’s Note: Gabe Clark is a very impressive young man. Never mind the fact that he is a top-notch player who is looking at a possible D1 lacrosse future or that he is looking at several terrific academic institutions that are D3. Or that he is a leader among his peers. None of that prepares you for the unexpected life event that propels you to prominence; life does not always run on your chosen timetable. Sometimes life choses you, not the other way around. I’m confident Gabe understands that, as you will see below.
For the few reading this and wondering about what this is about, there was a youth club lacrosse event in Orlando last weekend and during the semifinals of one of the two high school brackets an incident occurred where racial slurs were used by a few members ...
We'll start with an update on Saxton Dunlap, as he is searching for a stem cell/bone marrow donor and we will put that article up this weekend.
And while his journey is just starting, we have GREAT NEWS on Jacob Webb Jr.! That is going up today too.
On Wednesday and Thursday this week I was up in Vero Beach for the Prospects Games, which due to the CCP's virus, was cut back quite a lot from the original event, which was a major showcase combined with club events for the high schools.
The weather was better than the past weekend in the same location and the high school division, although down to 12 teams, was packed with top talent. Ponte Vedra, Benjamin, Lake Highland, Berkeley Prep, St. Thomas Aquinas, Western, Bishop Moore, Nease, Montverde, etc. And plenty of top p...
Author's Note: As we hit our stride with the summer club circuit I am looking forward to the Prospects Lacrosse event in Vero on Wednesday and Thursday for a couple of reasons.
We didn't get closure for the high schools, players, coaches and parents this year and this event, while not 'official', at least gives the 2020 kids playing one last go around, and for many of them, it will be their last game played. The Boys are playing this week and the Girls will have their own event later in Palm Coast.
And this event will be livestreamed for the championship games, in all 3 divisions of 1A, 2A and another grouping for 'schools' that prefer to be grouped by strength of program with like-level teams.
Here's the last poll FLN did before the season was cancelled:
Yeah, it was REALLY hot and humid yesterday in Vero.
I moved down here from New York in early 1991. Of course, the first question from my NY friends was always 'how do you stand the summers?'. Of the estimated 10 million NY born and raised who moved here the last number of years know, the simple answer is, 'it beats Manhattan in the summertime', and it really does. No high-rise concrete, glass and steel corridors that multiply heat exponentially. No smelly sewage grates down here. No horrendously ventilated subway stations either.
As far as I know, Boca Raton has NEVER had a 100 degree day, and I remember plenty of days living in Manhattan, having to take the subway in a suit (for the kids today, that was a matching pants and jacket, a button down oxford shirt, actuall...

On December 1st, Delray Lacrosse & Leadership (DLL) in association with Delray Citizens for Delray Police held their annual Heroes & Helpers event at the Target in Delray Beach. Over 130 families, of which fifty five were Delray Lacrosse & families were treated to breakfast & then a take-home turkey dinner while each of the children in the DLL program received a gift card so they could purchase Christmas presents with the assistance of a police or fire department officer.
Delray Beach detective Adrian Rackauskas helped organize the event. He said “It is a collaborative effort with our local partners to hold this special event for local kids & families. Delray Lacrosse & Leadership is helping these kids in our community.” Donte...
Author's Note: Today marks the beginning of the FIL World Championships and since we have Florida connections at the event we thought we'd bring you Quint Kessenich's Blog that he is writing for Inside Lacrosse. The first Blog is HERE.
This World Championship is, as far as I can tell, the first one Israel has hosted for a team sport. Long time readers will remember that we started covering some of Israel's quest to begin their national program and now we see the results. Team Israel will play Jamaica in the opening game at 9:30am this morning on ESPNU. Team USA will play the Iroquois Nation at 1:30pm EST today on ESPN2.
We hope you enjoy Quint's writings on this wonderful event for lacrosse fans!
