 via UT press release TAMPA, Fla. – Current University of Tampa men's lacrosse player Ben French was selected by the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League entry draft. French was the 51st overall pick.French will be making his Spartan debut in the spring of 2021 after spending his first four seasons at the University of Vermont. During his career at Vermont, he scored 58 goals which ranked him just outside of the top 10 in program history. In 2019 he earned second-team American East All-Conference honors and was on the America East All-Rookie team in 2017.In the shortened 2020 season, French had seven goals and four assists in four games played.

  MEDIA ADVISORY November 15, 2018League Statement: The League suspended its 5:00pm deadline yesterday to allow the PLPA to provide a new counterproposal. After a thorough review of the PLPA’s counterproposal, it is clear we cannot accept the terms the PLPA has put forward, and therefore, have made a decision to reject it. We believe those terms would have both short and long term negative consequences on our member clubs and the League which we are not willing to accept.
