The Lions defeated the visiting Chargers 17-6 to defend their home field at University Turf Stadium. Saint Leo earned a 7-4 halftime lead over Alabama-Huntsville led by Leslie Ferguson's first stanza hat-trick. The Lions opened the second half with a seven-goal run, earning the running clock advantage (14-4) with 12:29 left on the clock. The Sailfish trailed 11-2 at halftime, scoring both first half goals in the second period. Townsend Brown netted the first of the game for PBA while Zack Figura added the first of his two goals later in the peiord. The 'Fish scored back-to-back goals in the third as Figura recorded his second on the night and Jordan Trowbridge added a goal. Kyle Savick rounded out the scoring for PBA in the fourth.   via FSC press release   BOX SCORE LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College men's lacrosse saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 14-9 loss to No. 8 Belmont Abbey at Moccasin Field on Friday afternoon. The Mocs (5-4, 1-0 SSC) were unable to get the ball past the Abbey (9-1) goalie made 17 saves on 26 shots on goal. Jeff Atlas led the offense with three goals, while six additional Mocs recorded a goal in the victory. HOW IT HAPPENED Florida Southern and Belmont Abbey traded a pair of goals each to open the game. Kyle Silverstein gave the Mocs a 1-0 lead at the 13:37 mark of the first quarter.   There are times during a season when a winning team needs to find a way to win an ugly game and on Thursday night that certainly was the case with 11th-ranked AH-Plantation and the Patriots rode a strong defensive effort and a dominating faceoff advantage to generate just enough offense to find their way past a game Bolles Bulldog squad. Both teams struggled offensively, and even clears were heavily contested.  Shooting was off some too, as defenders were able to get on the hands well and when shots got through both goalies (AH-P's Jake Marek and Bolles' Destin Kirby) stood tall, with 21 saves between them versus the 12 goals scored.  And only 33 of the 61 shots attempted by both teams hit the cage.
