FIT Women: Panthers Ranked No. 7 in Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Top 20

  via FIT press release   SPARKS, Md. – Coming off a second consecutive run to the NCAA Quarterfinals, the Florida Tech women's lacrosse team opens the 2019 season with its highest preseason ranking in program history at No. 7 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Top 20. The Crimson and Gray are coming off their best season in program history in 2018. Tech went 17-3 last season including a 5-1 record in the SSC. The Panthers rattled off a 15-game winning streak and were rank as high as No. 5 in the nation during the season. Joining Florida Tech in the preseason Top 20 are fellow Sunshine State Conference members Florida Southern (No. 3) and Rollins (No. 12).   via Lynn press release   BOCA RATON, Fla. – Dryden Brous of the Lynn University men's lacrosse team has recently been tabbed a Second Team Preseason All-American, released by Inside Lacrosse and published in the Face-Off Yearbook. The preseason accolade is the first for any player in program history. Defending champion Merrimack has three first-team All-Americans —two at attack— and has five overall across the first, second and third teams. The lists show the growing presence of DII, with 10 different programs represented on the first team. The staff is charged with preparing the team for the 2020 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Men's U19 World Championship in Limerick, Ireland. Named as assistant coaches were Pat Myers, Stan Ross and Andrew Stimmel. Tony Resch will serve as the assistant manager, Brett Emerine will be the team’s equipment manager and Ryan Davis will be the videographer. Open to all, fans will be able to take a look at the new home venue and see seating options for the 2019 Major League Lacrosse season that begins on May 31 as the Launch welcome the Atlanta Blaze to Central Broward Stadium. Fans that have already put down deposits for the 2019 season are welcomed to join the team at 10:30 a.m. at Central Broward Stadium to pick their seats for the season.
