by Zac Carey   With another week of college lacrosse gone by, Floridians continue to greatly contribute on the national stage. In our continued coverage of those Florida kids on Division One rosters, here are last weeks results for the kids who call the Sunshine State home. Against Detroit Mercy last Tuesday, Griffin Bowie of Benjamin netted two goals in the 13-5 victory, and then followed that up with another score versus Boston on Saturday. On Saturday against Hartford, he got more playing time at offensive midfield, and even won a faceoff. Fellow Floridian and Hartford Hawk Braedon McKercher of Lake Mary also saw runs as an offensive midfielder. Long st...

photo via StAugustine.Com and Gary McCullogh   Wells Dusenbury and I were chatting last week and he told me something I had kind of forgotten . . . that readers liked to hear my opinion at times.  Certainly I've come to rely on press releases for college content when I should be writing some more original stuff. We were thinking back to the order of the Girl's high school champions because he had suggested writing an article about the Vero Beach Girls and what had happened to the once dominant program in the state.  It was an interesting thing to contemplate and I will get to it at some point in the season.  How did a program that struck fear into every opponent and was nationally ranked so many years was now not in the conversation for state titles the last few years. In Bellarmine’s 21-5 victory over the Hampton Pirates, attackmen Griffin Bowie (Benjamin) canned one goal on his five shots. Four days later, Bowie and Bellarmine faced off against St. Bonaventure and Dominic Madlang (Hagerty). In that contest, Bowie scored three goals on seven shots and dished out an assist, as he and the Knights beat the Bonnies 13-5. Madlang got r...
