via press release Cannons Pick Up Eight in Supplemental Draft The 2020 MLL Supplemental Draft was held this week and the Cannons came away with eight new additions, including Frank Brown, Griff Caligiuri, Fred Freibott, Mikey Herring, Aidan Marron, Ted Ottens, Matt Schultz, and John Yozzo-Scaperotta. These players will join the team for training camp in May. "We have been very pleased with the players we have signed from our 2019 MLL playoff team, as well as through new acquisitions and trades," said Cannons Head Coach Sean Quirk. "We drafted several players in the supplemental draft that we believe will compete in training camp, not only to make the Cannons roster but to make an impact on achieving a championship in 2020." In our continued coverage of those Florida kids on Division One rosters, here are last weeks results for the kids who call the Sunshine State home. Against Detroit Mercy last Tuesday, Griffin Bowie of Benjamin netted two goals in the 13-5 victory, and then followed that up with another score versus Boston on Saturday. For Canisius, Jake Lemon of Tampa Jesuit took runs at midfield in a loss to Michigan, taking three shots. On Saturday against Hartford, he got more playing time at offensive midfield, and even won a faceoff.
