via the Orlando Sentinel - May 5th - article by Kate Santich - pictures from the story (the picture gallery is WELL WORTH LOOKING THROUGH, as is the Video!)   Excerpt: In the frozen moment of a snapshot, John Michael Night is a sunlight-dappled teen on a beach, standing tall, his arms around his smiling older sister and kid brother. It looks like an answer to prayer. John Michael, a former Trinity Prep lacrosse star struck by a rare, devastating brain-stem stroke just before Christmas 2015, had initially suffered locked-in syndrome — the inability to move anything other than his eyes. Thousands of admirers around the world — including celebrities, sports heroes and politicians — began following his journey to recover, donating several hundred thousand dollars along t

thanks to Tom Congdon and Ted Swoboda for the pictures!   After the regular season game between these two there was a sense that if LHP wanted to get back to the top of the mountain in Florida they were going to have to really find themselves as a team.  There was a clear definable distance between them and STA . . . and the biggest difference was how physical each team played.  STA just overwhelms you physically in all aspects . . . Ryan Izquierdo is a bull in a china shop on the faceoffs and going downhill.  Joey Guglielmo defines the get down and dirty two-way midfield approach.  The Kevin and Jimmy Show goes to the net and never avoids the contact.  In settled defense situations STA gets in your face and dares you to snarl back.  All around toughness. And it showed in that r

We've finally come down to the wire STA vs LHP on the Boys' side and STA versus Bishop Moore on the Girls' side Ft. Lauderdale versus Orlando Spring break versus Mickey Okay, I'll cut that short . . .   The crowds in Jupiter were enormous yesterday.  Not sure about the ticket count but it had to be at least 1,500 at the peak. Because it is a Friday at noon start there's a tendency for the early game fans to not stick around for the whole day. Kind of a shame actually. Where else do you get this type of entertainment for this long for so little money? Became a fan of the sport, not just the team!   The four games were all entertaining and only one of them was a blow out.  And that one revealed a heck of an offense, one that I thought w

Just got home from the Benjamin 10-4 win over a game Barron Collier squad playing without star attackman Connor McGraw. Full game recap tomorrow.   Down in Ft. Lauderdale it looks like STA has pulled awy from Gulliver in the third quarter and now leads 8-2, so it looks like we get the rematch from last year's incredible semifinal.   Up in Orlando it was an easy win for LHP over Berkeley Prep 20-4. Seth Austin was on hand and will write up hopefully before he gets on a plane tomorrow.   Also in that area it was Lake Mary holding on for the 9-8 win over visiting Bolles, setting up the rematch of the 2015 semifinals game with LHP.   Not too much surprise here . . .   BUT   On the Girls side we have two upsets in...
