We transition to a new sponsor for the FLN Polls this season!  Prospects Lacrosse Inc. is sponsoring a new event for Florida school teams on an invitational basis as a showcase for college coaches to attend.  The Florida event is scheduled for May 23rd-24th in Vero Beach. LINK   No change at the top this week.  SA gliding, PV riding . . . to Baltimore.  Where they gave a great showing against nationally-ranked Gilman, and were twisted into a pretzel by nationally-ranked Boys' Latin.  SA is about to wade into their own out-of-state gauntlet on Wednesday as Academy New Church of Pa. comes to town.  Academy lost one game last year, by one goal to Malvern Prep, and anyone who knows Pennsylvania knows what that means.  They follow with Vandergrift of Texas, the tradition

How it should look . . . I mentioned in the King's-Oxbridge writeup that a confrontation occurred late in the game in the stands and I would write about it separately. Full disclosure up front. I DID NOT WITNESS the confrontation even though I was only about 30 feet away.  I did hear some things but the only thing I can say with 100% certainty was the chant of the King's students that started with about 4 minutes to go.  I am pretty confident is saying an Oxbridge fan, whether parent or not, confronted the chant in some way.  But that's about it for 100% of what I know.  I was in the press box but plenty of people were between me and the fracas. Could I ask around and get plenty of input?  Sure, but why go with a Rashomon-style likelihood of differing opinions when the actual details a

photos by Seth Green   To be honest, both sides tried giving the game away at times.  Maybe the elements had something to do with it.  Weather better seen in upstate NY this time of year . . . at least it felt that way.  I can't remember the last time I wore a jacket on March 7th.  Very windy and overcast.  Just sitting in the stands taking notes was tough enough . . . note to AD at Boca . . . working media do need press box access!  Or have I gone soft in my older age? Either way it was not the prettiest game to watch but in the end it was Boca's shooting and Belen's lack there-of that caused the final score.  Add a dash of excellent goaltending by Boca's combo of Shane Doyle and Barrett Joy (who played some key minutes in the 2nd quarter while Doyle nursed a delicate injury

Pictures submitted by Seth Green   King's Academy has been thinking about this one for a while.  Last year's regular season district game was an 16-2 wipeout and as King's improved they got within 8-5 in the district final.  Last night's game was one of those measuring stick games as a program and King's was looking to cement their place at the same level that Oxbridge has called their own the last 4 years.  After the Tuesday OT loss at AH-Plantation the Lions were able to put that aside, although it took a half of play to do so. HC Jacob Webb's comment on the interview after the game about falling back into old habits in the first half is very telling.  Chasing the prize ahead of you is very difficult emotionally, learning how to win the big game is iterative.  Oxbridge HC S
