Rollins Women: Tanner Named IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week!

  via Rollins press release   NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (February 11, 2020) – Rollins goalkeeper Gabby Tanner has earned IWLCA/StringKing National Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts in Rollins 19-10 win over No. 23 Saint Leo.  This is the first national weekly award for the junior from Chalfont, Pennsylvania. See all the award winners here. Tanner made 10 saves and kept a 50% save percentage as the Tars defeated the No. 23 Lions in non-SSC play.  The junior also picked up 2 ground balls in the contest. Through three games, Tanner leads the Sunshine State Conference in goals against average, at 7.02, and saves, with 22.  Her save percentage of 51.2% ranks second in the SSC. (February 8, 2019) – The No. 7 Tars stayed unbeaten on the year downing No. 23 Saint Leo in a non-conference tilt at University Turf Field.  Rollins improves to 3-0 on the year, while the Lions drop their first contest to sit at 0-1. (February 2, 2020) – The Tars finished their season opening road trip with a win, controlling the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers on their way to a 16-7 victory.  The Tars improve to 2-0 on the year, while UAH falls to 0-1 in 2020. Lily Rizk led the Tars for the second game in a row, scoring four goals and adding one assist for five points.  Caroline Gastonguay added two goals and two assists, totaling four points.  Gabby Tanner made 11 saves, while surrendering just seven goals. (January 31, 2019) – The Tars started their 2020 campaign with a dominating performance against Montevallo, dismantling the Falcons 20-4.  The Tars start the season 1-0 for the 11th time in 13 seasons.  Montevallo falls to 0-1 on the year.
