Tempone Tabbed First Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Palm Beach Atlantic

via press release   WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Stephen Tempone will be the first leader of the Palm Beach Atlantic University varsity men’s lacrosse program as announced by PBA Director of Athletics Carolyn Stone. Tempone comes to PBA after serving at his alma mater – New York Institute of Technology – since 2013. He was the offensive coordinator at NYIT where he led the team to a 13-5 record and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. HARDEEVILLE, S.C. –– Palm Beach Atlantic University jumped out to a seven goal first quarter en route to a 16-10 victory against the Savannah College of Art & Design on Saturday night. Christian Corbin (Bowie, Md./St. Mary's Annapoils) and Camden Baggs (Summerville, S.C./Ashley Ridge) paced the Sailfish (7-2) as both were awarded game balls in the rivalry game win. Corbin finished with five goals and one assist, while Baggs had one goal, two assists, and seven ground balls. The scoring began early and often for PBA, who got three early goals from Corbin, contributing to a 5-1 lead. The out-of-conference game between ranked opponents was a key restart for the Sailfish, who played their first game in sixteen days. On Friday, the Sailfish defeated Stonehill College (PCLL) 17-3 before getting back at it on Monday night, topping Columbus State, 17-7. The weekend was marked by by nineteen points in two games by junior midfielder Greg Swanson (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton HS).
