  Keiser Men: #5 Men's Lacrosse Outlasts #4 Cumberlands in Overtime Thriller, 8-7 Excerpt: Score: No. 5 Keiser 8, No. 4 Cumberlands 7 (OT) Records: No. 5 Keiser (3-0), No. 4 Cumberlands (1-1) Location: UC Lacrosse/Soccer Complex, Williamsburg, Ky. Dylan Sharpe scored five goals as No. 5 Keiser picked up their second win over a Top-5 opponent this season, prevailing in overtime at No. 4 Cumberlands.   In my continuing quest to be more proactive on the college scene there's some interesting news to report on one of our Florida colleges. Jacksonville has received votes for the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine Top 20, finishing at 22 for the week!  The Dolphins are 2-1 on the season with their only loss to #13 Michigan by 2 goals.  Jenny Kinsey and Sarah Elms lead the team with 11 goals each in the 3 games. LINK to the poll   The Tampa Women fell to Lindenwood on Tuesday.  Lindenwood rose to #1 in that very same poll for D2 Women and proved it with the 11-5 win in Tampa.   via Ave Maria press release   WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's lacrosse team took on fourth-ranked Keiser for a second-consecutive time on Saturday afternoon. After a high-scoring game in their previous meeting, Keiser won more of a defensive game today, 14-6. Georgia Miller started the scoring for this afternoon's contest with a goal 4:28 into the game. Keiser responded 12 seconds later and then again a minute later to take a 2-1 lead. Millet netted her second goal of the game at the 20:12 mark to tie the game at two. Keiser scored five of the next seven goals with a Miller goal at 12:40 mark and a Aiyanah Simms goal with 1:54 to play in the first half. Keiser Highlights The Seahawks earned the program's first-ever shutout with their 22-0 win on Monday afternoon. Mickey Sherrill had an easy day in goal as the Seahawks defense didn't allow a single shot all afternoon. Keiser's defense was so dominate that Brenau never got the ball inside the Seahawks 30 yard zone. Keiser Women: Sedar Named to NAIA All-American Squad

via press release - photo via Keiser web site   5/9/2017 10:35:00 AM The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2017 NAIA Women's Lacrosse All-American teams. Each team, first and second, consists of 15 members. The Seahawks have one member on the second team in Kristen Sedar. Sedar hails from Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, N.Y., and was the lone Seahawk named to an NAIA All-American squad. Sedar was also named to the First Team All-Independent Conference after turning in a strong first season on defense. Sedar finished the season with a team-high 23 caused turnovers, while also scooping up 29 ground balls to rank fourth on the team. Sedar also finished the season with one assist.

Keiser Highlights Frankie Parshall and Tabetha Fike led the Keiser offense with two goals apiece, accounting for four of the team's seven goals. Parshall paced the squad in points with three coming off two goals and one assist. Mary Reich started in goal for the final contest of the season, picking up the loss following 10 goals allowed. Turning Point The turning point in the season finale came in the final 10 minutes of the first half as Kori Garland scored three unanswered goals for the Knights, claiming the 6-3 advantage at halftime.
