Brianna Harris led the way with a career-high five goals, while Shannon Kavanagh posted four goals on the day. Freshman Emily Heller notched two goals and an assist in her first game in a Gator uniform. Hannah Mardiney dished out three assists, followed by two from Kaala Puglisi in her Gator debut. Dizney Stadium. No. 14 Florida vs. No. 18 Colorado Live Stream This is the fourth meeting between Florida and Colorado, with the Gators holding the 3-0 series advantage.   via IWLCA press releases   2020 IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll – January 27, 2020 The Maryland Terrapins, 2019 National Champions, narrowly edged out North Carolina to claim the top spot in the preseason IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll. Maryland garnered 15 first place votes, while the Tar Heels collected the other 10. Northwestern landed in the third spot, followed closely by Syracuse and Boston College, to round out the top five. The ACC landed seven teams in the top-25 rankings, the most of any conference, while the Big Ten had four schools listed and the Ivy League and Pac-12 each had three.   via UF press release   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida lacrosse team was tabbed to win the American Athletic Conference championship in the 2020 Preseason Coaches' Poll, as the league announced on Thursday. The league – in its second season – shakes out in the preseason poll as follows: Florida (5), Cincinnati (1), Vanderbilt, Temple, UConn and ECU. Florida received five of the six first-place votes and led the conference with five preseason All-AAC players, including three unanimous selections. Senior defender Cara Trombetta was named First Team Preseason All-American, while junior midfielder Shannon Kavanagh earned a spot on the Second Team. Both athletes are coming off a stellar 2019 season – Trombetta earned IWLCA Third Team All-America honors and Kavanagh received IWLCA Second Team All-America accolades. The Gators have 17 regular season games scheduled during the 2020 campaign – including eight contests at Donald R. Dizney Stadium. UF has gone 90-21 (.811) at The Diz in the history of the program (spanning 10 seasons). During the 2019 season, the Gators will face 10 teams that made their way into the 2019 NCAA Tournament field: Colorado, Maryland, Loyola, Stony Brook, Dartmouth, High Point, Navy, UNC, Princeton, Jacksonville.   via UF press release   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Five Florida lacrosse freshmen were named to the ILWomen Power 100 Incoming Freshman list, as the organization announced on Tuesday. Midfielder Shelton Sawers (St. Paul's School for Girls) was ranked 17th out of all incoming freshmen, the highest ranking for Florida and for the American Athletic Conference. Defender Becky Browndorf, who played at Upper Dublin in Pa. was ranked 33rd, while midfielder Emily Heller (West Babylon) earned the 45th spot on the list. Two other freshmen Gators earned a spot on the Power 100 Watchlist: midfielder Whitney Albert (St. Mary's) and Georgia Ceanfaglione (John Carroll).
