The Florida Launch of Major League Lacrosse announced today the selection of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation as their official charity partner of July. The partnership will kick off with the Launch’s auction of their autographed game-worn jerseys after their final home game at FAU Stadium on July 22, with all proceeds benefiting the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.
“It’s an honor to partner with such a great local organization. We’re excited about the great work they do and excited for the chance to get involved and give back to this community,” said Launch Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Michael Zeff.

On June 10th, Delray Lacrosse & Leadership played a scrimmage against Apprentice Lacrosse at FAU Stadium before the Florida Launch hosted the New York Lizards. The kids were treated to a pizza dinner before the scrimmage where they met with MLL player Chazz Woodson. They also participated in the high-five line to welcome the professional players on to the field before the game. The event marked the end to a groundbreaking first season for the Delray Lacrosse and Leadership program. They played several scrimmages in the spring against various teams in the town of Delray youth recreation lacrosse league. They also played in two local travel tournaments.

University of Utah president David W. Pershing has recommended the addition of men's lacrosse as a varsity sport to the university’s board of trustees, according to public documents. The board will vote via conference call Friday morning.

Author's Note: For those who play and follow the Girl's game these changes are truly revolutionary in finding a balance between keeping the Girl's game unique and solving some of the more vexing issues with watching the sport grow, particularly the speed of re-starting the game from a blown whistle and the taking away of a clean goal due to a whistle that did not effect the play itself. Hopefully the NCAA Ruling Panel will go ahead with all of these and then we can reflect back two years from now if any adjustments need to be made.

WASHINGTON, June 1 – The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced University of Maryland attackman Matt Rambo and University of Maryland midfielder Zoe Stukenberg as the men’s and women’s winners of the 17th annual Tewaaraton Award, presented by Under Armour. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and top female college lacrosse players in the United States.
