Congratulations to Nathan on his college choice and good luck in the future!

Why did you choose this college?
My main goal was academics throughout the whole process. I had opportunities to play at top 25 D1 programs but I couldn’t pass on the chance to not only play for a great program, but the chance to attend one of the top schools in the country.
What are your first memories of the sport?
I used to be a middie but I was average at best. So in 6th grade I played close d with a shorty just so I could get on the field. I ended up starting for the whole season even with the short stick.
What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future?
So many coaches at top schools will lead you on and tell you, “We really want you”. But, a week later you will see a committment on social media for your position before the coach even tells you. Be respectful, but also strong for yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask how many other guys they are recruiting at your position or where you rank on their priority list.
Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I want to thank my parents for helping me travel up north almost every weekend in the summer to get seen by college coaches and making sure I always had the right stuff when I need it. I also want to thank my coaches for looking out for me for the past 4 years and always telling me to keep an open mind and wait until the end. Lastly, my teammates for not only making me a better player by going after each-other during practice, but just for the memories.
