One of the best things about being involved with FloridaLacrosseNews.com is getting to know so many new people.  For instance, you get to hang with former MLL and NLL great Kevin Finneran and talk about his upcoming (three weeks from now) tournament to be held over Father's Day weekend in Delray Beach. Set at the beautiful natural turf fields the city built a few years ago, the event has the support of the Palm Beach Sports Commission. PERRY, N.Y. (CentreColonels.com) - Earlier this week the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced its selections for the 75th USILA/Nike Division III All-Star Game at Cabrini College and Centre senior Matt Hughes (Vero Beach, Fla.) was named to the South roster. Hughes is the first representative of Centre College on the North-South All-Star roster in the six-year history of the Centre men's lacrosse program. Hughes is also the only player from any Southern Athletic Association team to earn the invite to the game this season. The 2015-16 Centre Male Student-Athlete of the Year, Hughes will officially cap off his college lacrosse career after earning First Team All-SAA honors in 2015 and 2016. 2016 Eastside High School’s Middie Jose Cuevas Commits to Division II Tusculum

Congratulations to Eastside Varsity Captain Jose Cuevas on his decision to sign a Letter of Intent for Tusculum College in Greenville,TN.  Jose is the first Eastside lacrosse athlete to sign to a DII college. He was highly recruited by several colleges based on film. The coaches were impressed with his speed, agility and his ability to cause and recover ground balls. In the off-season Jose played for LCO. He is also a member of Heat Wave – Drum Corps International, Unity Percussion and Winter Guard International traveling to Bell, Inverness and Dayton Ohio for competitions. An active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and the 352 Youth Group, Jose is looking forward to playing in the SAC and getting his workout regimen from his new coach.
