via press release - photo via UF website GAINESVILLE, Fla. – NCAA Tournament play officially kicks off for the University of Florida women's lacrosse team (17-2) on Sunday, as the No. 3-seeded Gators face Southern California (17-3) in a Second Round matchup. The Gators and Trojans will meet for just the second time overall, and the second time this season, as Florida claimed a 15-10 victory in the inaugural meeting between the two schools on February 24. Southern California advanced to the Second Round after a 13-10 decision over Jacksonville on Friday. The opening draw is set for 12 p.m. from Donald R. Dizney Stadium. (Women's Lacrosse) – Caroline Dunleavy recorded a career-best 11 points and No. 6 seed Florida Tech earned a convincing 17-10 victory over 3-seed East Stroudsburg in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse South Region Tournament. The victory is the first in NCAA Tournament play in women's lacrosse program history. FIT now moves on to face familiar foe, No. 2 seed Florida Southern in the Second Round game on Saturday in a rematch of the Sunshine State Conference Championship Game. Dunleavy tallied seven goals and four assists, both game-highs, to lead the Crimson and Gray. Allie Modica notched three goals and two assists, to go along with 10 draw controls and five ground balls, both game-highs.

Jacksonville previously scored eight goals in each of its last two NCAA appearances, and notched seven in the second-half alone versus the Trojans.
