via press release - photo via FSC web site   INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Florida Southern College women's lacrosse, fresh off its second-straight Sunshine State Conference Tournament title, earned the No. 2 seed in the South Region of the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Tournament, the NCAA announced on Sunday. The Moccasins will host the winner of the matchup between No. 3 East Stroudsburg and No. 6 Florida Tech. The Warriors and Panthers will play at 3 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Stadium, and the winner will take on the Mocs at 3 p.m. on Saturday for a spot in the Final Four. (Women's Lacrosse) – The Florida Tech women's lacrosse team will be dancing into the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Tournament for the first time in program history, announced by the NCAA selection show on Sunday evening. The Panthers, who boast a record of 13-3 this season, will be making their first ever appearance as the No. 6 seed in the NCAA South Region. FIT is set for a first round matchup with No. 3 seed East Stroudsburg. The game is set to take place Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. ET on the campus of the No. 2 seed Florida Southern in Lakeland, Florida. Milne Field to crown its fourth ASUN Conference Tournament title and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Gators beat third-seeded Denver (14-4), by a score of 18-12. The Gators scored 39 goals over the span of two tournament games, breaking their own record from 2015 for most goals scored in a BIG EAST Tournament. Tournament Most Outstanding Player Mollie Stevens stuffed the stat sheet against the Pioneers, scoring five goals, two assists, six draw controls, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls. The Lady Gyrenes fell to two-seed Davenport 15-9 in the opening round of the eight-team invitational. Davenport jumped out to an early lead with two goals in the opening 1:03. via press release - photo via Stetson web site   Stetson's Sam Maguire, Lindsay Summers and Liza Diamond earned all-conference lacrosse honors as the Atlantic Sun Conference handed out their annual post-season awards tonight in Jacksonville at the ASUN Tournament awards banquet. Maguire and Summers were both named 2nd-team all-conference while Diamond was named to the ASUN's All-Freshman team. Maguire set a school record by scoring 40 goals during the regular season. Stetson's all-time leader in career goals with 70, Maguire currently ranks among ASUN leaders in goals (12th), shots (14th) and points (24th).
