PV hosted the Lake Brantley Patriots and it was a great start for the Sharks with Gray Larson forcing the turnover and feeding it to Miles Silva for the first goal. Jason Randolph added one to put the Sharks up 2-0 but the Patriots of Lake Brantley answered back with scores from sophomores Alex Preddy and Jared Bernhardt.   Logan Taucher extended  the lead for PV with an unassisted goal but Lake Brantley tied it up again on a goal by junior Tyler Goodwin. The first quarter ended with the tempo through the roof and a tie score 3 -3. Scoring slowed down in the 2nd quarter as both defenses ruled for most of the time. Brantley took the lead on a goal by Austin Guerrina. Silva and Garrett Boyle tallied to help PV to a slim 5-4 halftime lead. Ponte Vedra executed passing and plays flawlessly to put their attackmen in good positions to score throughout the game as well as a disciplined defense. Brantley’s robust defense was clearly not going to let Ponte Vedra move and score without pressure. This exciting game was played cleanly with a lot of intensity and no quarter given by either team. The Patriots came out with two consecutive scores in the 3rd quarter and from there the teams traded scores. Twice Lake Brantley was EMO and couldn’t find the net. With a 7-6 lead to start the 4th, Eric Applegate and Cody Legeza quickly padded the lead, 9-6. Guerrina narrowed the gap to 9-7 but 2 more PV goals sealed the win, 11-7.  Brantley sophomore Alex Preddy led Brantley with 2 goals. 16 seniors are to be honored on Saturday night as the Sharks face Fleming Island in their final regular season game.  The game completes and up and down regular season for Lake Brantley.  They begin the playoffs against Lyman on the 14th.
