Sharks Secure Top Seed in District with 12-2 Win Over Creekside

The Ponte Vedra Sharks sealed first place in the district with a 12-2 win over Creekside on Tuesday night. Soggy field conditions forced the Sharks to move the game to Plantation Park in Julington Creek. The loss of home field advantage did not prove to be a problem as junior Miles Silva followed up his 5-goal day on Saturday with 2 goals to ignite the offense. Senior RJ Garcia added three as the Sharks built an 8-0 lead at intermission and increased it to 11-0 after 3. A scary moment in the 4th quarter as the Knights Brad Herrera was involved in a collision in front of the goal. Herrera was taken from the field in an ambulance and the Sharks players, coaches and families all wish him a speedy recovery. After the extended injury time out, the Knights hopped on the scoreboard with 2 goals.
Ponte Vedra finishes regular season district play with a 3-0 record. The Sharks return to action hosting Gulliver Prep on Tuesday night.
