Ponte Vedra Scores Decisive Win Over South Carolina State Champion Wando

A second South Carolina team and a second win for the Sharks on Saturday afternoon. Ponte Vedra took on the Wando Warriors at Jacksonville University. Fresh off a Friday night win over Greenville, SC, the Sharks grabbed a 5-2 halftime lead and increased the lead to 10-4 after 3 quarters. The Warriors fought back with 4 goals in the fourth, but ultimately fell short 12-8. Junior Miles Silva had an outstanding afternoon, tallying 5 goals and 1 assist. Colin Peaks was credited with 10 saves and Logan Taucher led the team in ground balls, scooping up 12. For the Warriors, Chase Robinson and CJ Anderson each scored twice and goalie Trevor Pearson had 9 saves. The Sharks will host Creekside on Tuesday night in a district matchup.
