The Lake Brantley Patriots faced the West Orange Warriors Monday night on their home Tom Storey Field. The 3-0 Patriots and 2-2 Warriors had great weather for an exciting game. The Patriots took charge early and stayed in control the entire game adding goals evenly throughout all four quarters. The Warriors moved the ball well through strong fundamentals but met a wall of defense that allowed few shots on goal the entire night. In the first quarter Warrior attackman Nick Poidomani threaded the needle in a low angle shot from the side of the crease that scored the Warriors’ only goal. The Patriots’ mixed attack proved too much for the Warriors. Jared Bernhardt led the Patriots with 5 goals and 1 assist followed by Mike Dobrowolski with 4 goals and 1 assist, Ryan Crowley and Tim Gehlbach with 3 goals and 2 assists each. The strength of the Patriot’s mixed attack is not by seniors alone. The diversity of seniors, juniors and sophomores in the lineup provides depth to their offense. Brantley’s next game is Wednesday night against their district rival the Lyman Greyhounds.
