Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Windermere Preparatory School is excited and pleased to announce that Joseph (JoJo) Marasco, a recent graduate of Syracuse University has been hired as new Mens Lacrosse Coach. Marasco’s hiring comes in the wake of the departure of Jake and Jesse Bernhardt, who are returning to their alma Mater, the University of Maryland, for a coaching opportunity with the university’s Men’s Lacrosse Team. While a student at the Syracuse, Marasco distinguished himself as  a spectacular lacrosse player. Coming out of high school in New York to attend Syracuse, a perennial lacrosse juggernaut, Marasco was ranked the #5 player in the country. While attending Syracuse University, Marasco accumulated several prestigious individual awards, including NCAA All-Tournament Team Member, Big East Midfielder of the Year, and USILA First Team All-American. He was also a finalist for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, which is given to the most outstanding collegiate lacrosse player of the year. Most impressively, however, Marasco had the great honor of being selected as the Orangemen team captain for his Junior and Senior seasons on a team consistently ranked in the Top 10 in the country. In addition to his teaching, coaching, and lacrosse camp director roles at WPS, Marasco will continue his professional lacrosse career with the New York Lizards within Major League Lacrosse. In addition to his impressive collegiate playing career, Marasco has served as both a coach and instructor at various clinics and camps across the country. Most notably, he represents Maverick Lacrosse at its nationally renowned tournaments and camps year-round and has had head coaching experience for the youth travel-ball Prime Time Lacrosse Team in New York State. We are very excited to add such a standout coach, player, and role model to the Windermere Prep coaching staff. Coach Marasco will bring a wealth of knowledge to our student-athletes to prepare them for this upcoming season. We are looking forward to the school’s most successful lacrosse season to date.
