LB3 Lacrosse will host a regular season Division I lacrosse matchup between the Syracuse Orangemen and St John’s Red Storm on Saturday March 8th 2014 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, GA as the featured event for the inaugural Cobb County Lacrosse Classic.  The 4:00pm game will be part of a weekend long event including clinics with the players and a youth jamboree all on site at the KSU recreational complex. Syracuse is coming off a historic season that saw them advance to the National Championship game in 2013 and St John’s boast the most explosive attack in all of college lacrosse.  Syracuse brings a long tradition of lacrosse excellence and is considered by many to be the top program in men’s lacrosse during the coaching career of John Desk.  Desk is no stranger to the Atlanta area as he operates a camp at Berry College and says he welcomed the opportunity to play a game in front of the Georgia lacrosse fans “This is a great opportunity for us and for the lacrosse community in Atlanta.” said Desk “We enjoy bringing the college game to new places and I think this should be a good one for our friends in Georgia to experience.” St John’s is more of a newcomer to the upper echelons of college lacrosse but coach Jason Miller has built a winner around a strong attack unit and is excited for his Red Storm to spend spring break in Atlanta.  Miller explained, “We are coming down for a few days and will practice down there leading up to the game.  Liam Banks (LB3 CEO) is setting things up for us and I am sure it will be a great experience for my entire team.”  Miller added that taking on a team like Syracuse is always exciting regardless of the venue “Syracuse has been a great program for a long time. You always love to play against great competition and that is what Syracuse brings to the table.  This should be an outstanding game, I know my guys will come out ready to play” The Cobb County Classic Youth Lacrosse Jamboree is open to U13 and U15 teams and will be played on the fields surrounding the Stadium Complex in 10v10 format.  There will be 12 teams in each division made up of six Georgia based teams and six teams from outside of Georgia.   Each team will get 3 games in Jamboree style play.  LB3 CEO Liam Banks says he wants to create a friendly yet competitive atmosphere, “I really want the entire weekend to be fun for our local lacrosse community.” offered Banks “Lacrosse folks love to play the game so we decided to add a Jamboree.  Kids will get a chance to play some lacrosse and watch the best teams in the country compete, it should be a great weekend for lacrosse in Georgia.” Banks also promised that he would get the college teams involved in clinics over the weekend.  “We have not finalized a schedule but we are all committed to growing the game of lacrosse.  When you have this much talent coming to town it would be a shame not to get them out on a field with local players” stated Banks. Tickets are now on sale and range in price from $20 for general admission to $100 sideline seats on the field.  There are also suites and other VIP opportunities available.  Tickets, including group sales, will be available through Ticket Alternative (www.ticketaltenative.com) or the KSU Box office (770-794-7809).
